FBDCZ Coal Mine Explosion-Proof Contra-Rotating Axial Fan
A new-generation mine main ventilation fan designed for the development of coal mines: compact structure, low noise, large flow, high pressure, high efficiency and good reverse-air performance. The impellers are directly coupled to the motors and rotate against each other, the diffuser cone carries a built-in silencing structure, and no separate reverse-air system is required — the fan reverses the airflow directly to more than 60% of the normal air volume.
- Mine explosion-proof
- Contra-rotating
- No reverse-air plant needed
- Reverse air ≥60%
- No.11 to No.24
- 2×15 to 2×355 kW
- Sizes — No.11 to No.24 (80 duty points)
- Motor power — 2×15 to 2×355 kW
- Air volume — 11 to 150 m³/s
- Total pressure — 500 to 6500 Pa
- Efficiency — ≥75% / ≥80%
- Noise (LSA) — ≤38 dB(A)
Product features
The FBDCZ explosion-proof contra-rotating axial ventilation fan for coal mines is a new type of mine main ventilation fan designed and manufactured to meet the needs of coal mine development. It features a compact structure, low noise, large flow, high air pressure, high efficiency and good reverse-air performance. The fan house needs only simple civil works and a small footprint, and no reverse-air system needs to be built: the fan reverses the air directly, with the reverse air volume reaching more than 60% of the normal air volume. The fan is an integral structure with the impellers directly coupled to the motors, the two stage impellers rotating against each other, and the diffuser cone tube carries a silencing structure — installation and use are extremely convenient.
Scope of application
The FBDCZ coal-mine explosion-proof contra-rotating axial ventilation fan is mainly used as a suction- or pressure-type main ventilation fan on the mine surface, or as a suction- or pressure-type auxiliary ventilation fan underground. It is especially suitable for mines with long roadways and high ventilation resistance.
Structural features
The fan consists of two fans of the same size connected in series: the front one is the first-stage fan and the rear one is the second-stage fan. The blade angles of the two stages are different, and users can adjust the blade angles themselves according to the air volume and air pressure required by the mine (see the figure below).

Tell us the mine ventilation resistance, the required air volume and pressure, and whether the fan will work on the surface or underground, and our engineers will confirm the size number and motor configuration and prepare the quotation.
Technical data is reproduced from the manufacturer’s data sheet for the FBDCZ series. The sheet does not state the gas group or temperature class of the Ex marking; send us your mine’s explosion-protection requirements and our engineers will confirm the certification and suitability before you order.
